A wine region in the East-Central area of France, just south of Burgundy.  The major grape variety is Gamay Noir.  The traditional cuisine that pairs well with Beaujolais is French charcuterie such as patés, terrines, rillettes and saucisson sec and with white-rinded cheeses such as Brie and Camembert, seared tuna and sushi (yes, it’s a red wine that pairs with sushi!!!)
