There was black currant, tobacco and black pepper on the nose. Flavours included black currant, cherry, tobacco and dark chocolate. A complex wine that lingered for some time afterwards. This wine was paired with steak fillet and butternut squash risotto. The steak is a natural pair and it went extraordinarily well with it. The risotto paired well also and it was a nice surprise as it brought out a lot of different flavours in the dish and the wine.
